Club Hatteras Pool Gets Facelift
Replastering should make things cooler

It's hard to believe that our swimming pool is eight years old this summer! The pool needs replastering and the heaters need replacing – at a cost of $45,000.

We decided to change the color of the pool to white instead of gray. We had thought that gray would extend the season because as the gray would absorb the sunlight, the water would be warmer.

Well, the water was warmer. In fact, it was so warm that it was a real challenge to keep the water chemically in balance.

The new white color should reflect the sunlight and keep the pool water cooler during the summer.

We might have to fire up the new pool water heaters a little more in the swing seasons, but overall we expect our guests to experience a more enjoyable time at the pool.
